I gave this as a gift to my teen age grand daughter and she loved itIt’s a lovely little charm. Both chain and charm are very, very sturdy. Yes, it does work as well as advertised since technically, to me at least, it shouldn’t replace a more advanced unit if you will find yourself on a hike in a remote area. Unfortunately, it doesn’t glow in the dark though.In the end, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this as a gift for someone else.The TIMULTI Titanium Compass Necklace seems pretty chunky on the image photos but it is actually quite petite. It is very durable and waterproof. It is quite weighty when worn and lays nicely against the chest. It is reasonably accurate as well. This would make a perfect gift for someone who likes to blaze their own trails while hiking and loves being outdoors or for someone who enjoys compasses. The dial may be a little hard to see for some, it is quite small. But overall the piece is lovely and functional.This is a cute pendant with some practical purposes - a standout keychain accessory.The compass window does appear to be scratch-proof, and the pendant is quite scratch resistant - only baring a few micro-scratches after some a few weeks of wear on my keychain. The coloring still looks new.The chain included with this pendant offers some decent length, enough for a larger man to slip it on without unclasping. Seems quite strong.Care should be taken to keep this away from magnets, as with any compass - it can knock the polarity off balance.The compass directions seem to bug out a bit if left on my metal desk - so it's best to hold it in your hands for a moment before citing its direction.Overall this is a quality item and a great choice for a gift.Very compact & a meaningful gift!This is VERY cute. It's hard to read because it's so small. The small size hinders it's ability to turn freely.But it DOES work.Gave as gift to granddaughter & she loved it. The heart is tiny but perfect for necklace. Very good quality including the chain.
