For the scent type and strength, coupled with the price, this is a pretty good deal for a candle.I was able to burn this candle for several days, using it for several hours during the evening hours on all of those days. I chose the cedarwood and hazel, and while it's not the strongest scent in the wood, it is a very pleasing smell to me, and it's strong "enough."The candle wick itself also burned cleanly and fairly consistently throughout its usage and with it being a soy-based candle -- as opposed to wax -- it did not leave those dark, black soot marks you often see on other candles.I'd have no issues with recommending this candle to any man (or woman). It's a very pleasing scent, well-priced and lasts a decently long time.Much like Hidden Valley, I'm not really sure why this is called Hidden Label? I mean, the label is right...there. Maybe its suppose to be subtle and not and overwhelming, complicated label.So with that said, the scent of this candle falls in line with that. It's pretty subtle, soft and doesn't completely assault your nostrils with a potent aroma. For some that could be could or bad; I do appreciate the simple scent that sneaks up on you...but some might better appreciate a more bold smell that fills the room.The scent is unique, nonetheless. The combination of hazel and cedar creates kind of a robust woodsy scent that isn't really found in many candles. The potency is very subtle but when you catch a whiff, it's very complex and unique.This candle is very much served in smaller areas, but nonetheless the smell is very nice and likely to be enjoyed by most guys who just want to smell something other than their stank room. ??This is generally a full-sized candle, so I expected it would offer pretty good room-filling power in my office area of my home. I like working in a nicely scented space, and I'm a dude, so I like stuff that's generally not too feminine and flowery. That said, I wouldn't say that this candle can't be enjoyed by non-men people. It's not overtly masculine, just not flowery. It smells great. When you first open the jar, the scent is very impressive, which makes it seem like it'll burn quite powerfully. Not so. It only gives a mild ambiance of scent to my office area, rather than a potent aroma. I wish it were more powerful, because it would definitely be a five-star item in that case.The scent is pretty weak and it burns fast. It isn't worth getting in my opinion...So I normally love Amber and Myrrh fragrance with my candles. I love that this is soy based so decided to try it out. I’m going to go in opposite direction of the other reviews and say that I don’t find the scent to be subtle and light at all, in fact this filled my room up nicely! That said, for some reason this candle gives me a bit of a headache it’s so strong. I would have preferred a more subtle scent like some of the reviews claimed. I can only really burn this for a short period of time to avoid getting a headache. Product packaging was nice, but I don’t love the labeling and don’t understand why it has to say “Him” on there- like it can’t be for “Her” to? Doesn’t make sense, but hey, whatever works these days. Would be a good gift for a man I suppose, gender neutral woodsy fragrance.Overall, it’s nice. I probably wouldn’t repurchase only because I found it to be too strong. But it does smell pleasant.Nice scent to this candle - warm earthy scent, subtle, not over powering in any way - nothing sweet or strong. My husband burned this in his basement office area, it's a finished basement space and the scent was "just enough" without being overpowering.One thing though is the candle didn't last very long. He trimmed the wick a couple times, as it was too long, and the candle seemed to liquify and burn through much quicker than other candles this same size.Set also included two tiny candle tins - LavenderVanilla and TuberoseBerries. These are like sample sizes. Scents for both are very light, a warm wax candle scent with a hint of fragrance vs a definitive strong scent.This was a great gift. It comes with additional sample candles etc which is nice but the smaller candles don’t really smell like anything. The actual candle is a good smell and last long.This isn't my first Hidden Label candle and I'll definitely keep coming back for more. Not only do the candles burn long and smell amazing, but they always offer new and distinctive fragrance combinations. The For Him scent is a mix of woods and spice. While the aroma isn't overpowering, the "throw" is pretty potent once the candle's been burning for a few hours so you get a mild woody scent permeating the house. In addition to the quality of the candle itself, Hidden Label always throws in a couple of small sample sized candles so you can try out other scents. In terms of its decorative qualities, the jar isn't the most sophisticated on the market but it's not bad.
